For DC sound when stationary or at low speeds requires a 3.6v battery. Will recharge NiMH cordless phone or similar batteries automatically while running. Without a battery, works when track voltage exceeds 6 volts.
For DCC sound, connects to whistle trigger, lighting output and motor output.
Whistle can be triggered by reed switch and trackside magnets. Also sounds automatically when starting from rest.
Ideal for installation in a parcels van or similar behind the loco with track pickup. Avoids the expense and installation of one soundcard per locomotive.
