MyLocoSound soundcards are not an inflexible recording of real locomotives. They deliver up to one watt of synthesised sound which is highly adjustable to represent a variety of locomotives, from small railcars and industrial locos up to heavy, mainline freight and express passenger locos.

You can watch and listen to the sound card on              by clicking the links below. Remember that the sound quality may be limited by the loudspeakers on your computer and that the sound you hear is a sample which you can adjust.

British Diesel  This video shows an Accucraft Baguley Drewry locomotive which has been converted to battery power using RCS radio control. The speaker was taken from an iPod external speaker unit. The black bonnet top was made removable to give easy access to the sound card controls. The horn can be switched from single to two tone.

British Steam.  This video shows a Pannier Tank from Garden Railway Specialists which has also been converted to battery power using RCS radio control. A plain 8 ohm speaker from an electronics store has been mounted in the plastic top of a paint spray can as a baffle. The boiler and panniers lift off for access to the electronics and batteries.

American Diesel This video demonstrates the bell which can be switched on. It is set to start ringing when the loco moves off and to continue until the loco accelerates away.

American steam also has a bell and a highly adjustable whistle to represent a variety of locomotives. A sample soundclip is included here. You can also view this video made by customer Russell McIntire of his loco running in Tampa Bay, Florida.
