MyLocoSound

Classic Electric Soundcards for large scale, outdoor railways in 16mm, G scale, Gauges 1 and 3 and ride on railways.

This is MyLocoSound's third generation of low cost soundcards for large scale railways. Like their predecessors, the steam, diesel and electric soundcards are highly adjustable to suit a wide variety of US, European and other locomotives. However, a number of major improvements have been made based on feedback from customers over the past seven years. Our latest version, recognisable by its blue circuit board, is now available.
MyLocoSound Universal is physically smaller than its predecessor, it retains the installation simplicity of screw terminals and also the same low price. However the quality and variety of sounds has been improved. A bell, a guard’s whistle, airbrake release, three different brake compressors, door slam and "All aboard" are all included.

Three styles of horn are included. For European locos there is a two tone horn, two air horns plus a generic horn. On all of them the pitch and volume is adjustable using our TV remote control.

Five motor sounds are included; three of them conventional, a Swiss motor sound and the musical notes of the German Taurus. All vary realistically as the locomotive speeds up and slows down.

Previous MyLocoSound products have used purely synthesised sound to produce a low cost soundcard which is readily adjustable. To achieve greater realism, but still at the low price, MyLocoSound Universal uses a blend of recorded sounds from actual locos with the adjustability of synthesised sound.

Some of the sounds can be heard on the links below:
Whilst it’s great to have a highly adjustable soundcard, the benefit is lost if you have to take the locomotive apart each time you want to make an adjustment. MyLocoSound has solved this problem by providing a handheld remote control which is used to make all adjustments from outside the locomotive. These are Sony compatible TV remote controls which can be purchased from local consumer electronics stores or from MyLocoSound at very little cost. Only one remote control is needed for any number of locomotives.
All of the sounds can be triggered by the function buttons of the Crest Revolution or the multi-channel radio control systems from RCS, Peter Spoerer, Micron, Mtronics, Mac 5, Cliff Barker, RailBoss, Airwire and others. MyLocoSound Universal also works well with simple track powered railways. On these, the sounds can be triggered in three ways. Firstly, the steam whistle can be set to sound automatically when the loco moves off and at timed intervals when running. Secondly, trackside magnets and loco mounted reed switches can trigger any of the sounds at selected positions on the railway. Thirdly the remote control can be used to trigger any of the sounds but only from short distances.

On track powered railways, each locomotive needs a nine volt support battery on board to sustain the sound when the track voltage is reduced to stop at a station. This battery will recharge automatically when the loco is running.
The size is 55mm x 32mm x 11mm
