MyLocoSound soundcards are not an inflexible recording of real locomotives. They deliver up to one watt of synthesised sound which is highly adjustable to represent a variety of locomotives, from small narrow gauge up to heavy, mainline freight and express passenger locos.

You can watch and listen to the sound card on YouTube by clicking the links below. Remember that the sound quality may be limited by the loudspeakers on your computer and that the sound you hear is a sample which you can adjust.

British Steam.  This video shows a Pannier Tank from Garden Railway Specialists which has also been converted to battery power using RCS radio control. A plain 8 ohm speaker from an electronics store has been mounted in the plastic top of a paint spray can as a baffle. The boiler and panniers lift off for access to the electronics and batteries.

American steam also has a bell and a highly adjustable whistle to represent a variety of locomotives. A sample soundclip is included here. You can also view this video made by customer Russell McIntire of his loco running in Tampa Bay, Florida.

A special version is now available for locos which are fitted with an axle driven chuff cam such as the Bachmann Annie shown in the above link.
